Trivium drummer Nick Augusto was recently interviewed by the UK drum magazine Rhythm about his technique, replacing the band's original drummer Travis Smith (for whom he'd worked as a tech), and bringing the flavor of his last band, the grindcore trio Maruta, to his new gig. Our UK office conducted an exclusive interview with Dream Theater frontman James LaBrie at this year's High Voltage festival, which took place Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Victoria Park, London. In the first clip, he discusses the process of replacing drummer Mike Portnoy with Mike Mangini, and in the second clip, he talks about the band's upcoming album, A Dramatic Turn of Events, due out September 13. Dream Theater Announces Tour Dates With Trivium!

 
Dream Theater have announced the first run of tour dates in support of their new album A Dramatic Turn of Events, due out September 13. The album marks the recorded debut of new drummer Mike Mangini, and it will be available in multiple versions that will be sure to delight the band's avid fans. In addition to the standard version, there will be: a special edition CD/DVD set including The Spirit Carries On, a 60-minute movie documenting Dream Theater’s much-discussed drummer auditions; a double-LP set in a gatefold jacket; and a Limited Deluxe Collector's Edition Box Set.
